bathroom bliss

Client Brief

Create a functional master ensuite and walk in robe that celebrates the style of our 1930’s home.

The traditional ‘sleep-out’ accessed through both bedrooms was transformed into a master ensuite off one room and spacious walk in robe off the other. The design approach paid equal attention to both form and function where original windows were kept and bathroom practicalities were worked in. A large vanity unit with laundry basket drawer sits snugly beneath the windows. A custom made steel framed mirror was commissioned and installed in front of a window appearing to almost float in space. A tiled bench seat and generously sized walk in shower add to the function where the patterned floor tile mimicking the diamond shapes on the windows provide the form.

Starting with an empty room, the first step was connecting the required plumbing and electrical services. Making sure the built space reflected the vision, Designtank regularly visited site to answer design related questions and provide quality control checks. Keeping an eye on details such as grout colour and silicon lines, drawer handle placement and toilet roll holder position means a quality end result, everytime.
